About Me

Michael Tomoya-Smith

Currently based at Umesato Country Club in the Yokohama area, I have been teaching golf for the last 20 years (15 years in Japan).

I started playing golf in Australia at the age of 5 and it has been my passion ever since. I have competed at the Junior, Amateur and Professional level. In my travels, I have been fortunate to have learned my skills from some of the very best players and instructors worldwide.

I am a TPI Certified and U.S. Kids Golf Certified coach, and I am fluent in both English and Japanese. I am also a qualified Titleist fitting specialist and can assist you with club fitting at our dedicated fitting studio at Umesato Country Club.
